Description: |
An erect perennial herb from a small woody rootstock with fibrous roots. Leaves scabrid, subsessile 4-15 x 0.3-4.5 cm. oblong-elliptic to narrowly ovate, or narrowly oblong to linear-lanceolate. Capitula few to numerous in a leafy terminal corymbiform cyme up to c. 40 cm. long. Capitula subtended at the base by leafy bracts overtopping the involucre. Corolla purple. |
