Tufted perennial. Culms 60–150 cm. high. Panicle 10–25 cm. long, linear to lanceolate. Spikelets 10–15(19) mm. long, narrowly lanceolate. Inferior glume 2/3 to as long as spikelet. villous with tubercle-based golden brown hairs, acuminate. Superior lemma villous all over or only on margins, the lateral lobes usually attenuate into setae 1–3(6) mm. long, the central awn 9–18 mm. long. |
