Description:
Annual or perennial herb, ± erect or ascending, to 70 cm. Leaves oblanceolate to obovate or elliptic; margin crenate-serrate. Flowers in lax 3-10-flowered pedunculate racemes. Corolla 8-13 mm, pink, mauve, purple or rarely white, with two longitudinal yellowish crests in the mouth of the tube. All anthers penicillate at apex. Capsule 2-3.5 mm, 2-valved.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: goetzei: named after Walther Goetze (1872-1899), German naturalist and photographer, who collected both flora and fauna in Tanzania.
