Description:
Small shrub, less than 2 m high. Leaves narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, 8–25 mm long, discolourous, green above (blackish-green when dry), whitish or silvery beneath, hairless or with a few hairs on the margins and main vein beneath; , margins revolute; petiole short, scarcely 1 mm. long; stipule sheath hairy, 1–3 mm long, with 3–7 fimbriae 1–4 mm long. Inflorescences 1.5–2.5 cm wide, less than 30-flowered. Corolla white, pink or pale lilac; tube 1.8–4 mm long, hairless or hairy outside; lobes oblong-ovate, 1.5–3 mm long. Capsule 1–1.2 mm tall excluding the 1–1.6 mm long beak.

Habitat: In Podocarpus forest or Hagenia forest, in bracken or Protea-Ericaceae scrub and also in montane grassland.
Altitude range: 1950 - 2400 m
