Description:
Terrestrial herb 20–65 cm high; tubers more or less ovoid, up to 3.5 cm long. Sterile shoot 3–4-leaved, lower 2–3 leaves sheath-like, upper leaves lanceolate, up to 18 long. Flowering stem with 5–9 leaves, largest erect, in the middle of the stem, more or less lanceolate, 10–17 cm long, loosely sheathing at base. Inflorescence fairly densely many-flowered, 5–20 cm long. Flowers white, tipped with green; bracts prominent, up to 30 mm long, reflexed or sometimes spreading. Sepals and petals deflexed, joined to each other in basal half and to lip in basal third. Median sepal oblong-oblanceolate, 6–10 mm long, rounded; lateral sepals slightly shorter but wider. Petals slightly shorter than sepals, oblanceolate, c. 1 mm wide. Lip very convex , 6–9 mm long, with a wide mouth and a beak-like apex c. 2 mm long. Spurs 2–3 mm long, short and sac-like.
