Description: | Deciduous spreading shrub or small tree 2–8 m high with thick succulent trunk and sausage-like blunt branches covered with a thin grey bark. White latex present. Leaves alternate and clustered can at the end of the branches, elliptic up to 30-50 cm. Flowers in terminal heads, strongly fragrant in morning and evening, pink to white with shades of yellow in the centre, 5–7.5 cm wide. Fruit pod-like, cylindric, 17.5 cm with 20-60 winged seeds. Fruit rarely found in cultivation. | |
