Flowers small, inconspicuous, subtended by a bract, usually 4-merous, sessile. Corolla gamopetalous, scarious, 3-4 lobed. Ovary superior. Fruit a capsule. Worldwide: 3 genera and 275 species, cosmopolitan Malawi: 9 genera and 10 taxa. |
