Description of the genus

Perennial herb. Leaves 1-pinnate; leaflets overlapping when young, bearing spiny cartilaginous teeth. Inflorescences of compound umbels. Bracts and bracteoles many and well-developed. Petals subcircular to broadly obcordate; apex inflexed. Stylopodium well-developed, conical. Fruit ovoid, glabrous, slightly laterally flattened; ribs distinct.

Worldwide: 1 species occurring in Angola, DRC, Malawi, Mozambique,Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe

Malawi: 1 taxon.
