Description of the genus

Terrestrial herbs. Stems creeping at the base. Leaves petiolate, ovate, sheathing at the base; upper leaves sheath-like. Bracts prominent, broad, glandular-hairy. Sepals free. Petals partly fused to dorsal sepal; lip partly joined tothe column, reflexed at apex, saccate at base.

Worldwide: 10 species from tropical Africa to the Seychelles

Malawi: 1 taxon.
