Description: |
Shallow rooting annual, stems tufted. Stems dark green and glossy, articulated with transverse septa, sometimes obscure on stem but usually clear on the inflorescence bract. Leaves absent, leaf-sheaths usually without lobes. Inflorescence an apparently lateral cluster of 2-10 sessile spikelets; main inflorescence bract stem-like, 6-20 cm long, flattened, jointed with transverse septa. |
