Description:
Softly woody liane, up to 10 m. Stems with copious clear sap. Leaves elliptic to ovate with 2-3 pairs of lateral veins; margin entire. Flowers in lax axillary cymes, rarely with a few stinging hairs, unisexual on different plants.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: trinervis: 3-veined
Habitat: Along margins and in clearings of lowland evergreen forest.
