Common names: Fishbone cassia (English)

Annual or short-lived perennial herb, sometimes prostrate but more commonly growing as an erect subshrub up to 1.2m.
Derivation of specific name: mimosoides: like a Mimosa, referring to the finely divided pinnate leaves.
Habitat: A plant of forest margins, Woodland, grassland, disturbed ground and road sides.
Altitude range: 300 - 2000 m
Flowering time:Nov - Mar
Worldwide distribution: Widespread in the tropics of Asia and Africa and South Africa
