Description:
Shrub or small tree. Bark pale greenish-grey, slightly roughish and scaly. Leaves opposite, up to 17 × 13 cm, one of a pair distinctly smaller than the other, heart-shaped to broadly ovate, sometimes somewhat 3-lobed, covered with mixed simple and stellate hairs, domatia present in the axils of the main veins below, 3-5-veined from the base with 4 small glands near the base above; margin more or less entire, wavy. Flowers in axillary spike-like racemes, greenish-yellow with purple anthers, unisexual, sexes on different trees. Fruit deeply 3-lobed c. 10 mm in diameter, greenish-yellow.
