Description:
Softly woody shrub, mostly 1-2 m tall, rarely taller. Most parts covered in soft, sticky hairs, not irritant. Leaves shallowly 3-7-lobed, rounded, unpleasantly aromatic when crushed. Flowers pale pink in small axillary clusters.
Notes: This species is superficially similar to Pavonia urens, which is a much more robust plant covered with sharp, irritant hairs.

Habitat: Higher rainfall areas; at the margins of evergreen and riverine forest

Flowering time:Almost throughout year
Worldwide distribution: Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini and South Africa as far as Eastern Cape. Also in Réunion and introduced in Madagascar.
