Description:	Erect aromatic perennial herb, up to c. 1.5 m. Leaves petiolate; lamina 6-12 × 0.3-1.5 cm, linear to narrowly lanceolate, more or less glabrous, densely gland-dotted; apex acute; margin irregularly serrate. Inflorescence a dense spike, 2-4 cm. Calyx sparingly pubescent, green with a purplish tinge; teeth 3-4 mm, spiny. Corolla c. 15 mm, gentian-blue, sometimes tinged greenish.

Derivation of specific name:	stuhlmannii: named after Franz Stuhlmann (1863-1928)
Habitat:	In vleis and on damp grassy stream banks.
Altitude range:	650 - 1700 m
Flowering time:	Mar - May
Worldwide distribution:	Uganda, western Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
