Description: |
More or less climbing shrub, 2-4 m tall. Bark pealing in strips revealing cinnamon-brown underbark. Leaves opposite, usually c. 3 × 5 cm, slightly leathery, oblong-elliptic to ovate-elliptic, above becoming shiny and hairless when mature, more densely hairy and scaly below. Flowers in short axillary spikes, white to yellowish. Fruit c. 2.5 × 1.5 cm, 4-angled or slightly ridged, usually not winged, dehiscing along the angles. |
