Description:
Erect perennial herb, 0.5–1.5 m high; stems more or less pubescent or nearly hairless towards the base; inflorescences with dense yellowish pubescence. Leaves mostly near the base of the stem, deeply palmately lobed, often almost to the base, sparsely pubescent or almost hairless; petioles up to 18 cm or more long. Flowers 3.5–6 cm wide, sweetly scented. Sepals white, sometimes with a green spot, occasionally pale mauve or purplish-white; spur 3–4 cm long. Anthers black or dark purple. Fruit in 3 follicles, 2.5 cm long, pubescent.
