Description: |
Robust erect perennial shrubby herb, up to 2m tall; stems ribbed, more or less densely hairy or velvety. Leaves sessile or very shortly pseudopetiolate, more or less narrowly elliptic, lanceolate or oblanceolate, upto 9 cm long, tapering at the base into a very short, narrowly winged pseudopetiole,variously hairy on both surfaces; margin slightly rolled under, entire or with a few callose-tipped teeth. Inflorescences in large branched heads up to 20 cm in diameter. Capitula numerous, broadly funnel-shaped, c. 5-6 mm long and 6-8 mm wide. Florets yellow with rays often paler yellow to almost white, strap-shaped, up to 2.9 mm long. |
