Description:
Rhizome creeping, up to 8 mm in diameter; rhizome scales about 6 mm long, brown, concolorous, lanceolate in outline, apex gradually tapering to a point. Fronds spaced, 1–4 cm apart, herbaceous, arching. Stipe straw-coloured or tinged purple, up to 45 cm long with scales similar to the rhizome at the base, otherwise glabrous. Lamina 50 × 30 cm or larger, pinnate but with the lowest pair of pinnae pinnatifid. Pinnae oblanceolate or linear-oblong in outline, 10–30 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, abruptly ending in a long tail-like tip at the apex, wedge-shaped at the base, margin minutely toothed, glabrous; veins thickened near margin above. Rhachis straw-coloured, glabrous. Sori linear along the veins, exindusiate.
