Description:
Climber 1–3 m high, with pubescent twining stems; nodes with indistinct ring of short brownish hairs; latex clear. Leaves ovate or elliptic-ovate, 40–75 mm long, cordate at the base, sparsely pubescent to more or less hairless above, minutely velvety beneath, especially along veins; petiole 10–50 mm long, pubescent. Inflorescence of short, dichotomously branching, up to 10-flowered pseudoumbels with many flowers opening simultaneously. Pedicels 5–10 mm long, densely pubescent. Sepals linear-lanceolate, c 1.5–2 mm long, hairless except for some pubescence at the base. Corolla bell-shaped, 7–10 mm long, hairless throughout; tube 3–5.5 mm long and c. 4 mm wide in middle, mostly slightly longer than lobes; cream to whitish-yellow; lobes spreading, narrowly triangular, deep orange-red.
Notes: Unusual in this genus for having flowers with short spreading corolla lobes.
