Description:
Slender perennial twining herb with clear latex, growing from a tuberous root. Leaves opposite linear-lanceolate. Flowers purplish with a deep tube and long spidery lobes, spreading, not united at the tips.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: schliebenii: after Hans-Joachim Eberhardt Schlieben (1902-1975), German botanist, photographer, and writer who collected in Tanzania and South Africa.
Habitat: In shallow soils over rock.
Altitude range: 2000 - 2300 m

Worldwide distribution: Southern Tanzania, northern Malawi end northeastern Zambia.
