Annual herb, 1.3 m high (1 m flower part, 30 cm leaves part). Stem green, short, smooth. Leaves long, thin, hairless, dark to shiny green, smooth margin, linear. Fruit small, 4 winged pods, cream in colour when dry. Seeds small, round in outline, flat, black. Underground organ small tubers interconnected, smooth brown roots extending from the tuber.
