Description of the genus

Herbs or subshrubs. Leaves alternate, fan-shaped, incised to 1- or 2-pinnatisect. Capitula small, usually in corymbs, many-flowered, heterogamous; marginal florets female; disk florets bisexual. Phyllaries 3-4-seriate. Receptacular scales 0. Pappus 0.

Worldwide: 12 species in tropical and South Africa

Malawi: 2 taxa.
