Description:
Annual herb, shortly erect or semi-prostrate, all parts covered in white hairs. Leaves simple, ovate to oblong-lanceolate. Inflorescences dense, many-flowered. Flowers pale yellow with purple veins. Pods less than 1 cm, subspherical, densely hairy.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: anthyllopsis: from Anthyllis (Kidney vetch) another papilionoid legume.
Habitat: In open woodland, grassland and disturbed places.
Altitude range: 700 - 1800 m
Flowering time:Mar - Apr
Worldwide distribution: West, East and Central Africa; from Mali and Ethiopia to Angola and Zimbabwe.
