Herb about 40 cm tall with a single terminal flowerhead with white-ray florets and yellow centre. Leaves with red prominent lateral veins, smooth with rough edges. Roots lateral.

Spreading canopy tree to 8m, canopy open. Up to 20 leaflet pairs, not overlapping; middle leaflets largest. Pods woody, all fallen and dehisced, 4-5 seeded. Dominant species here.

Only young saplings seen

Extensive now naturalised colony, probably originally introduced as foodsource for goldminers.

Grass to 40cm,tufted, hard to dig out. Inflorescence very narrow, purple-tinged, anthers hanging out. When seeding, glumes opening widely, very hairy, whitish.
